What is a Brain Evaluation and why is it important?
Let me explain and introduce you to the work of Dr Amen. If you aren't familiar with Dr. Amen I highly recommend you look him up. He is one of the worlds leading Psychiatrist with over 9 Clinics around the world. Unique to the world of Psychiatry Dr Amen strongly believes that receiving brain scans for all mental health patients should be standard practice. Psychiatry currently is the only medical field that diagnoses ONLY off of symptoms and has no requirements for any physical evaluations.
Dr Amen has collected a data base of hundreds of thousands of brain scans and has done hundreds of research studies on mental health using SPECT brain scans which has provided him with a significant insight to what is happening in the brain associated with specific symptoms, and how diet, medication and supplements affect each part of the brain.
Unfortunately SPECT scans are not standard practice and therefor not covered by insurance, which means its EXPENSIVE! Here is where I come in. Through Dr Amens research he saw and learned patterns of symptom's that correlate with each specific parts of the brain. He created a course to teach all his findings to coaches who could give these evaluations at a much lower cost. Is it as effective and personalized as a brain scan, no, of course not, it can't be. And for certain cases I recommend a scan but for most people Dr Amens research and this evaluation is comprehensive enough to make significant changes and improvements to ones mental health.
